Mark is a history enthusiast who loves a good story. Valerie is a university student studying history who loves academic research. Together, they bring you Saint John - Nothing Happened Here.
Mark Allan Greene
I am an author, playwright, and lawyer who grew up in Saint John, New Brunswick. As a child, I explored the many buildings, monuments, and historic locations where the ghosts of the past still remain. This sparked my desire to resurrect the epic stories that shaped the Maritimes, including the Great Saint John Fire of 1877. I now live in Edmonton, Alberta, but will forever be a Maritimer.
Valerie Emerson
I am a Honours Bachelor of Arts in History student at the University of New Brunswick from Saint John, New Brunswick. Growing up among the city’s museums and historic neighbourhoods, I developed an appreciation for the stories preserved in local records and material culture. I am dedicated to decolonial archival practice and the preservation of Indigenous and marginalized histories in the Maritimes.
